These are the comments from my brides for the 2012 Wedding Industry Awards, of which I was regionally short-listed.

“Amanda was very helpful both before the wedding and on the day itself. She coped with extra requests for make-up help. and the end results lasted well throughout a very long and hot day”

“I was not the bride myself but the mother of the bride. Amanda made me feel very relaxed and confident in her abilities, I was having a very bad hair time and the run up to the wedding and the day itself. Amanda kept all my anxieties at bay; I could not thank her enough. My make-up and hair was wonderful and l received nothing but compliments, which was down to her professionalism and very kind nature, l feel Amanda takes pride in her work and always goes that extra mile. Amanda fully deserves this award.”

“Amanda dressed my hair for my wedding day perfectly. She made me look like the very best version of myself and ensured my hair both looked wonderful and felt comfortable. I could forget about all through my reception and at the end of the evening it looked just as good as it did at the beginning. I have extremely thick long hair which took several hours to dress but Amanda was patient and painstaking, a real artist and a pleasure to have in my home on such an important day. I will definitely book her to dress my hair again as and when I can think of an excuse to justify it!”

“Amanda's work was outstanding. I have long straight hair and she was able to create a relaxed half up do, which everybody said was fantastic. Most people thought I must have had extensions to achieve that sort of body, but it was just her magic. Amanda did the hair and make up for both myself and my mother and the hair for my 5 bridesmaids. Everyone was happy with the results. She was brilliant in the pre wedding meetings, but more importantly a lovely calming influence on the day Especially as with 5 demanding bridesmaids and a stressed out mother of the bride, it must of been difficult to stay relaxed. I would recommend Amanda to anyone and surely that is the highest honour! Please recognise her, she thoroughly deserves it!”

“Amanda was excellent and I would recommend her to anyone! She did my hair and make-up exactly how I wanted it (I actually cried after my trial!). The day before the wedding she sent a text to double confirm which was excellent as it put my mind at rest. Amanda was just brilliant on the day, she stayed later than agreed to sort my veil out which was very kind of her. Getting Amanda to do my hair and makeup was one of the best decisions I made (apart from marrying my husband that is!!) xx”

“Amanda is a true treasure. She has a calm, relaxing demeanour which could keep even the most nervous bride at ease. From our initial conversations to the trial and the day of our wedding Amanda was a pleasure to work with. Amanda uses the top quality products that suit a wide range of ages and ethnicity's and ensured that my mum, bridesmaids and I had looks that suited our personalities. The fact that she is highly skilled in not only hair but also make up is an added bonus. A lot of people claim to be able to do both but Amanda really can! On a logistical note, Amanda was always punctual, she confirmed her arrival time a couple of days in advance. She was easy to arrange payment with and not at all pushy in my decision process. The morning of my wedding was so relaxing knowing Amanda was there to make us all look a beautiful version of ourselves. And in that task she succeeded. She knew exactly how long each person needed for hair and make up and her timing was immaculate, no rushing, no panic. I can't recommend her highly enough, my hair and make up look gorgeous in all my photos and on the video and even my dad commented that mum hadn't look so gorgeous in years! My whole bridal party looked and most importantly felt stunning thanks to Amanda Roberts Hairandmakeup4u. I'm not a great writer but have recommended her to everyone i hear that is getting married and I wouldn't do that unless she was the BEST. “My wedding was arranged at relatively short notice so I relied heavily on Amanda's suggestions which worked out perfectly. She was able to ask the right questions to understand what would work well for me. She also rearranged her diary to accommodate me. Her manner is professional but very relaxing and efficient.”

“I had so many compliments on my wedding day, as did my bridesmaid and mum. Looking back at the pictures, I'm happy that I still looked like me as I didn't want to feel completely overdone. “Not only did Amanda work incredibly hard and have some fantastic ideas- and make me look and feel amazing on the day- she also kept incredible cool during a fire alarm evacuation of our hotel as we were in the middle of getting ready! “I would recommend Amanda Roberts without any hesitation. I believe Amanda should win this award because she is: – Organised, approachable, flexible and has time for you. Before the trial and on the run up to the wedding day she was on hand to give me advice when I needed it and was genuinely happy to help me. On the trial day itself she recommended the best skincare products for my skin type and advised me on preparation for the day. During the trial, she listened to what I wanted and suggested suitable hairstyles, showing me a variety of options from her very organised tear-sheet file. After the trial, she was incredibly flexible and reassuring when I had a change of mind over my hairstyle a month before the wedding. – Professional, experienced and takes pride in her work. Amanda is incredibly professional. Not only does she use the highest quality make-up and products but she also has a very large selection. Amanda is confident in her own abilities and her experience in the field shows – she knew, immediately and without hesitation, what make-up would suit my colouring and skin-type. On my wedding day I had a flawless complexion (many people remarked on how like porcelain it was), with eye-make up that really brought the colour out of my eyes – the whole look felt really natural and just perfect for me. – She is calm and relaxed. I am so pleased Amanda was there the morning of my wedding. She took everything in her stride and even with the inevitable pre-wedding nerves and emotional moments she was always reassuring me and because of her calming nature I couldn't help but feel relaxed in her presence. – She loves her job. This is plain to see – Amanda looks so comfortable and happy to share the special moments with you. The morning of my wedding was hectic to say the least (there was 1 over-emotional sister, 1 mother and 3 giddy friends in a tiny flat PLUS a visit from 5 very excited kids) but despite the commotion I caught her smiling to herself which was really touching to see – she obviously loves the excited energy surrounding a wedding day. – and finally... It goes without saying that Amanda is clearly very talented. Both mine and my sister’s hair looked amazing. My hair in particular suited my vintage dress so well and reflected my personality perfectly. My make-up, simply put, was beautiful. I definitely transformed the morning of my wedding and I felt gorgeous all day. On the morning of a wedding day, Amanda arrives as a make-up artist but leaves as a friend. I honestly can't thank or recommend her enough.”

“I was delighted with Amanda's services for my wedding. She spent a good amount of time in our practice run working out how to get the look I wanted, and also took account of my requirements, e.g. I am allergic to glue, so used latex as adhesive for my eyelashes. She also listened to me when I said I wasn't keen on a particular colour and adapted accordingly. On my wedding day she arrived promptly and did a wonderful job! Plus, she was lovely and friendly.”

“Amanda was absolutely great, from my very first contact with her. She made me feel relaxed, and confident throughout. On the day she was wonderful despite having a houseful of excitable girls, one fraught mother in law to be and a slightly bored and lost father of the bride. She helped me stay calm and relaxed and took everything in her stride. I can't thank her/praise her enough :-)”

“Amanda was brilliant as a make-up and hair artist for my wedding day. She had a really detailed consultation and trial with me beforehand to find the best look and style for me, and kept an exact record of this, so she knew exactly what to do on the wedding day. I have sensitive skin and don't wear much make-up, and Amanda was very sensitive to this - only using top of the range products and talking through what she was using beforehand, and checking I was okay for her to use it. The finished look was exactly what I wanted and many people complemented how natural the make-up looked on the day (which is exactly what I wanted). She was very good at keeping me calm throughout the morning throughout a lot of chaos. She provided my sister and I with little lipstick top-up pots for during the day, which was invaluable as it was a very hot day. After the event, she gave me a full breakdown of the products she had used, as I wanted to buy almost all of them on my honeymoon!”

“Amanda was great in every way. She arranged a taster session with me and my Mum well before the wedding and came with plenty of suggestions about my look for the day. On the day itself, she did a fantastic job on me, my Mum and my two bridesmaids, so we all looked superb! She is freindly and professional and certainly knows her stuff when it comes to great hair and make-up products! My Mum looked so lovely that her own mother did not recognise her at first glance! Amanda curled my hair in a way that made it look the best it ever had in my life and everyone commented on it at the wedding. I felt fantastic and mymake-up lasted all day! I can't recommend Amanda highly enough. My friend has booked her again since for hair and make-up on the night of her 40th party!”

“Amanda was great. Not only did she make me look and feel fantastic on the day but she also went out of her way to make sure she got there on time - I know that sounds obvious but my wedding day was the day of the heavy snow in London. Roads were shutting, transport wasn't running and it was very difficult to get anywhere (in fact 30 of or 80 guest couldn't even make it to the venue at all due to the severe weather, including my bridesmaids and page boys!). Amanda was ready to walk with her stuff on a sledge rather than let me down. While she was doing my make up I was getting call after call from my nearest and dearest saying they were stuck or weren't going to make it and she was really supportive as got more and more upset! Eventually she banned the phone and said I should just take what came when I got there which was great advice and we still had a fantastic day. Amanda listened to my thoughts on how I wanted to look and did it exactly how I wanted. A very natural look. My hair looked great too and the trial before the day definitely put me at ease. Amanda was professional, kind and a very calming influence with excellent hair and make up skills - what more could a bride want!”
